Ave Line’s Procedure for dangerous goods registration and carriage on board.

Passengers must follow the booking procedure and registration.

1. The Customer who intends to transport a vehicle with dangerous goods by sea should make a reservation in due time by internet to Ave Line’s main office and / or Agents. 

2. The Customer who intends to transport a vehicle with dangerous good by sea should specify the Class, Packing group and UN number in accordance with valid edition and amendments of International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) code for a transport of dangerous goods by sea.

3. The Customer has primary responsibility to ensure that the specified Class, Packing group and UN number are matching actual cargo to be carried.

4. The Customer has primary responsibility to ensure that his vehicle with dangerous goods is in good condition, fitted for this transportation, correctly labelled and marked in accordance with IMDG code requirements and all cargo inside this vehicle are properly secured and without leakage. IMDG labels should be displayed at all sides of truck and/or trailer. Ave Line agents and Master may decline dangerous goods shipment if these requirements will not be met.

5. Customer has to present IMDG code Dangerous goods declaration to Agent on registration. Agent has to ensure that booked dangerous cargo Class, Packing group and UN number is matching cargo declared in Dangerous goods declaration.

6. The Customer who transports a vehicle with dangerous goods will have a priority on registration and should be on quayside at commencement of loading operations.

7. Ave Line has the right to place restrictions for carriage of dangerous goods by sea during winter season and/ or bad weather conditions.

8. Neither Ave Line nor ferry Master will take any responsibility on dangerous goods carried on vehicle on board and /or damages to the vehicle made by dangerous cargo carried on this vehicle.

9. On Customers request Ave Line can provide limited number of dangerous goods labels at port agencies. Specific dangerous goods labels are always subject to availability.

10. The Customer who transports a vehicle with dangerous goods will only get the Boarding pass and/ or confirmation after acceptance of mentioned Rules in writing.

During loading and discharging from ferry. 

1. The Customer who transports a vehicle with dangerous goods has to present his vehicle and dangerous goods declaration on embarkation to the Loading Officer. 

2. The Customers vehicle with dangerous goods will be loaded on board in position specified by Loading Officer.

During voyage:

1. The ferry Crew takes a visual check of all vehicles each hour on the voyage and if necessary will inform Customer concerns to their condition via the Purser on board.

This procedure may be changed and or modified by Ave Line without notice.
