SAFETY RULES FOR PASSENGERS OF THE FERRY Baltic Amber Passengers are required to abide by these safety rules, instructions by the ferry staff and safety notices located on the ferry to ensure the safety, security and comfort of all persons aboard. In their order and safety maintenance duties, the ferry staff represent the captain. It is forbidden for passengers of the ferry to disturb or endanger other passengers and violate the rules. Persons behaving in an inappropriate or disruptive way can be detained until the end of journey. 1. Passengers are required to present a valid boarding card and a proof of identity upon request. 2. Due to safety reasons, all persons aboard the ferry and in the port area can be subjected to physical inspection. A person has the right to refuse physical inspection; however, in such an event the person can be banned from the ferry or the port area. Inspection can apply to luggage, vehicles, cabins and other storage areas. 3. If a passenger’s behaviour endangers or disturbs other passengers and if a passenger fails to observe the rules, is inappropriately dressed or otherwise violates the regulations, the service provider has the right to deny this passenger access to the ferry. 4. It is permitted to consume alcoholic drinks on the ferry; however, those must be bought from the ferry bar. It is forbidden to store or use drugs. It is forbidden to bring food bought elsewhere into the ferry restaurant. 5. Passengers are not allowed to bring weapons, hazardous items or substances onboard. Use of open sources of fire (candles, gas hobs, etc.) aboard is forbidden. 6. During the journey, passengers are only allowed to remain in areas intended for passengers. It is forbidden to visit the vehicle deck, repair vehicles or handle fuel during the journey. 7. Passengers are not allowed to disturb other passengers. In the cabin area, it is forbidden to use audio equipment without headphones, and after 23:00 local time passengers are required to observe a night’s repose. Leaders of youth and children’s groups are responsible for ensuring the compliance of the members of the group with these safety rules. When required to ensure order, the leaders of youth and children’s groups shall cooperate with ferry staff and observe their directions. 8. It is not allowed to damage or remove from the cabin any cabin equipment (pillows, bedclothes, chairs and other items belonging to the service provider. Police will be informed in the event of theft, break-ins, threats, property damage or other unlawful actions. It is forbidden to damage ferry safety equipment. Police will be informed in the event of false alarms and groundless use of emergency and alarm equipment. 9. Passengers are not allowed to engage in trade or any other economic activity, manage asset funds, organise lotteries, carry out propaganda or agitation events or perform political speeches, unless previously approved with the administration of the Ave Line ferry line. 10. Smoking is allowed only in specially designated areas on the ferry. 11. For personal safety and the safety and peace of other customers, it is forbidden to be aboard under the strong influence of alcohol. The staff has the right to refuse service to strongly intoxicated customers. In such cases, no money previously paid for services will be returned. Wearing nightgowns and slippers is allowed only in cabins. 12. To avoid any misunderstanding, if you discover damage in the cabin, please immediately report it to the reception. If the damage has been caused by the guest, it will be charged depending on the scope of damage. 13. Cash, jewellery and other valuables may be left for storage at reception. The ferry operators shall be held responsible only for items left at reception. 14. Guests may turn to reception with their complaints, questions and suggestions. Friendly staff will provide you with information in Latvian, English or Russian. 15. Pets may be carried onboard only on passenger vehicles. Transporting and keeping pets on the passenger deck is strictly prohibited.
